Welcome to the website of the Laboratory Unit on Harmful Marine Μicrolgae of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
The mission of LUHMM-AUTh encompasses basic and applied research on marine algae. In this context the Unit also provides monitoring services for the presence of toxic and/or potentially toxic microalgae in bivalve mollusc farming and fishing areas according to the National Monitoring Program of the Ministry of Rural Development and Food.
LUHMM-AUTh is located in the facilities of the Laboratory of General Microbiology of the School of Biology in the central AUTh campus and comprises a Unit of the School. The Unit has developed active collaborations with other research labs in Greece and abroad.
